The Jump App:

Archived Announcements 9:2:19Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! We are thrilled to introduce our new communication platform — The Jump App. The app will streamline activities, make it easy to find answers to questions and help the ONW band family stay connected. We will discuss this exciting communication tool at Meet the Band Night but want to give you the chance to download it before the meeting!

We’ve created specific Olathe Northwest Jumps, please follow the link that makes the most sense for you:

Marching Band

The Raven Pride Marching Band is coming off their most successful season in school history. Members of the Marching Band can join this Jump to stay in the loop. https://plm4.app.link/urxTo1FzPY

Concert Band

Members of the ONW Concert Band will want to join this Jump to keep up with home concerts, music festivals and other extracurricular concert band events. https://plm4.app.link/j7vvAADzPY

Concert THIS Tuesday October 15th

Concert Band, Jazz Lab, and Marching Band! Be sure to review information for this week’s concert below. Looking forward to an exciting and musically rewarding evening for ALL of our band students!

We will be pushing the start time and all call times back 30 minutes. CONCERT BEGINS AT 7:30 PM. Summit Trail’s 6th grade concert is also scheduled for this date, and this change along with a 30-minute early start time from ST will allow parents and families who have students at both schools to attend both events. More to follow!

Sure looking forward to having everyone together for our fall concert THIS TUESDAY. The concert will begin with our 4th hour concert band, transition to our 5th hour jazz lab, and conclude with our marching band performing in surround sound! One of my favorite events of the year, hope you and yours are looking forward to it as well.

– Concert Band students call time will be at 7:00 PM on the stage. For this performance, we will wear dressy clothing. School tuxes and dresses will be used for SPring festivals and concerts. Students should plan to wear a shirt and tie / dressy blouse, dress pants / long skirt, appropriate shoes, etc.. Many thanks!

– Jazz Lab call time will also be 7:00 PM. Please wear concert band / marching attire. You will need to have your instrument in the auditorium wings for a quick change as needed!

– Marching Band students will need to be in the band room at 7:00 PM for your warm up (unless you are also performing with concert band and / or jazz lab). Uniform room will open at 6:30 PM. Please wear your marching band bibs and show shirt for the first portions of the concert, have your coat, hat, and plume handy for a quick change to the marching band portion as needed.

Kansas Bandmasters Marching Championships:

This Satuday, October 19th. Before you see the document attached regarding the festival, remember that often we can look at things int wo ways; as inconveniences or opportunities. There is a strong possibility that your performance in prelims and finals could be 12 hours apart. I’m choosing to look at the schedule as an opportunity! It’s going to be an EARLY morning, however you have the day off on Friday to rest up! After the morning performance, we will come back to ONW where we can listen to tapes, clean things up, watch video, rehearse things that can make your finals performance our best yet. AND, Mr. Schauf has kindly agreed to work with our awesome volunteers to provide two tasty meals for the day. It will be a long one if we make finals. I have no doubt you will! Remember that this is our last competitive event, and your potential is outstanding. Let’s own it, let’s prepare to give it our all, and let’s represent our great school in the best fashion possible. At both of our last two festivals, you have set new records for our program. No doubt, this is the most able ensemble our school has ever had. Finish strong! GO RAVENS!!
